RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina State safety Jarvis Byrd is working his way back from the third serious knee injury of his college career. Byrd tore his left anterior cruciate ligament at Wake Forest last year. It was the same injury that sidelined him for the 2011 season.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Top-seeded John Isner has withdrawn from his Winston-Salem Open quarterfinal against Lukas Rosol on Thursday because of a sprained ankle. Organizers say Isner injured his left ankle Wednesday night during his third-round victory over Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan. Isner won this tournament in 2011 and 2012.

BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) - Brad Keselowski earned his first NASCAR Truck Series win on Thursday. Keselowski passed defending champion Kyle Busch with 75 laps to go and held off Busch's teammate Darrell Wallace Jr. in the UNOH 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Steve Spurrier says 1,000-yard rusher Mike Davis hasn't practiced this week and might not be ready when the ninth-ranked Gamecocks open the season against No. 21 Texas A&M in a week. The teams play at Williams-Brice Stadium next Thursday night. Davis has been slowed by several injuries during camp.
