Lenoir County health officials are looking for the person, who turned in a raccoon infected with rabies.
A health department official says a woman found the raccoon on the road somewhere in Kinston on August 14th.
She brought the raccoon to a local animal hospital, where it tested positive for rabies.
Officials say it is important for them to find out who the woman is, because she was exposed to rabies.
