Greenville Police and Firefighters came together for the holidays at the Colonial Mall.

It’s called “Operation Santa Claus.“ Both departments, along with high school students from Pitt County, encouraged shoppers to donate toys.

The toys collected there and at other locations will be given to the Salvation Army to pass along to children.

It’s not too late to make a donation. The event is still going on and will until nine o’clock Saturday night.

Organizers say even they have already received more today than last year.
