Floats, music and dancing took over the New York City streets this morning. More than a million people lined the streets of New York City for the 82nd Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Among those in attendance, the Smurf, Buzz Lightyear, and Doctor Seuss’s Horton the Elephant. It takes about 75 balloon handlers just to get one giant float down Broadway. Pop stars like Miley Cyrus also electrified the parade-watchers.
“It’s amazing to see everyone this happy in this economy right now, and this
Many good things going on,“ Brian Pickard, visiting from Florida, said.
Parade watchers say it’s a chance to come together and remember there’s always something to be thankful for.
