Sometimes we are surprised by what our viewers are paying attention to.

In Viewer’s Voice, we got comments about the faces you see on Eyewitness News 9.

And about a 4 p.m. syndicated program on Channel 9 called “The Doctors,” Lana Russel wrote, “It seems to me that the topics on “The Doctors” has become much more graphic and geared for a mature audience.  For the benefit of the adult viewers who find these topics of interest, I wonder why this isn’t shown sometime between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.?  I realize that parents can change the channel to prevent young children from seeing the program, this just isn’t something you normally see during family hours.“

Well, Lana, the program deals with all kinds of medical issues.  Some are more mature than others and we don’t edit out content.

And on the new faces you see on Eyewitness News 9, this note from Winfield Crews, Jr., “My wife and I both want to express our sincere appreciation for the newest addition to the weather staff.  The African-American female that you have hired is an exceptional addition to the WNCT staff.“

Well, Mr. Crews, we think the same thing about Von Gaskin and she thanks you for your comment.

And this came from Sue, “I have seen a lot of new faces on the news. They are doing a good job. I think it would be a good idea to introduce them. When we see new faces we would like to know what happened to the ones we used to see.“

Well, you’re right.  Lately, we have had a number of new faces along with the old favorites like mine.

But there is a way you can learn about who these folks are.

Just go to our website at wnct.com under “About Us” on the masthead and look for Newsteam Bios”.

Thanks to everyone who wrote in.

I just wanted to say that the city or county needs to put reflectors on Allen road. It is nearly impossible to see at night, especially when it’s raining. Thank you for your time.
