Actor Kal Penn to speak for Obama in NC

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The actor who starred in the “Harold and Kumar” movies is campaigning for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama this weekend in North Carolina.
Kal Penn will appear Saturday night at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem. On Sunday, he plans to be at Elon University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University, and in Raleigh. On Monday, he will attend a rally at N.C. State University and several stops in Charlotte.
Penn is participating in events the Obama campaign has dubbed “Weekend of Action” to register new voters and recruit new supporters for the Illinois senator.
Penn also appears on the series “House” on Fox. He was the floor manager for the Virginia delegation at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
