ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. (AP) - An Illinois company plans to expand a North Carolina manufacturing plant and add 79 jobs over three years by consolidating operations with a South Carolina plant.
Gov. Mike Easley said Monday that Dynapar Corp. will invest $1.5 million at its Elizabethtown plant in Bladen County. The company makes automated equipment control devices for commercial and industrial equipment and motors.
Easley’s office said the Illinois company plans to consolidate manufacturing operations in Lancaster, S.C., with the North Carolina plant.
Easley said the expansion was helped by a $150,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
Company vice president Ken Verhulst says the Elizabethtown plant has been in operation for more than 40 years.
