RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A fitness equipment company plans to build a manufacturing facility in North Carolina, investing more than $26 million and adding 142 over the next three years.
Precor Inc. said Wednesday it would build the facility in Greensboro to make equipment for health clubs, hotels and universities. The company is based in Washington state and chose Greensboro after a national search.
Gov. Mike Easley said in a statement the state’s work force would allow the internationally recognized company “to innovate and grow.“
Precor manufactures cardiovascular and strength-training equipment. It has offices in Germany, the United Kingdom and other international locations.
The project is partially funded by a $140,000 grant from One North Carolina Fund, which helps attract new businesses to the state.
