Alexander Freedman joined WNCT Eyewitness News 9 in July 2008 as an online web producer. He plans to graduate from East Carolina University in December 2009 with a double major in Communication: Broadcast Journalism & Hispanic Studies: Spanish Language.

Alexander was born right here in pirate country, Greenville, North Carolina, and is proud to admit that he, indeed, bleeds purple and gold. He has lived in Greenville all his life but has made frequent ventures to Washington, D.C. during his summers off. Alexander has also traveled to multiple cities in Vietnam including Ho Chi Minh, Da Lat, and Nha Trang, among others, over a five week venture. He feels these experiences help to broaden his views on both national and global issues.

During his junior year at ECU, Alexander interned at WNCT Eyewitness News 9 as a broadcast producer and learned the day-to-day happenings of a newsroom. During his time interning, Alexander affirmed his love for journalism that had began during his high school days as Editor-in-Chief of his school's news magazine. Alexander is looking forward to embarking on his career in journalism with WNCT Eyewitness News 9.

Alexander is proud to be a brother in Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity and when he's not in the newsroom, you can find him spending time with his fellow fraternity brothers or helping out his mother at her small business.
