Gannon Medwick joined Storm Team 9 as the morning and noon meteorologist in October 2004.

From Hurricane Gloria to the crippling Blizzard of 1993, the Wilmington, Delaware native has seen plenty of wild East Coast weather. By junior high school Gannon knew he wanted to pursue a career in meteorology.

In 2003, Gannon completed a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology from
Penn State University. At Penn State, Gannon competed with the university's traveling racquetball team, an experience highlighted with a trip to the 2002 national collegiate tournament. He also forecasted for newspapers and radio stations with Penn State's Campus Weather Service.

Gannon began television broadcasting at PSU with Weather World, an evening all-weather program shown on various television markets across Pennsylvania. After graduation, he took a job as an evening meteorologist with KVHP-TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Gannon is thrilled to be forecasting in eastern North Carolina, tracking some of the same challenging East Coast weather
patterns that sparked his early interest in meteorology.

In spare time, Gannon enjoys playing racquetball, tennis, and basketball, cooking, traveling, and watching professional sports. He and his wife and daughter live in Pitt County.
