Greenville 13’s to play for World Series Berth

Greenville’s 13 year old all-star team plays for a title on Tuesday, while two other Greenville teams headed home from the postseason on Monday.

The 13’s won a pair of games. Greenville beat Jupiter, Florida 7-5 to advance to the championship series.

That squad then scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to hand Great Falls, Virginia their first loss, 14-13. Thomas Conlin’s two run double in the 7th scored the tying and winning run for Greenville.

Those same two teams play again Tuesday morning at 10am. The winner advances to the Babe Ruth 13 year old World Series in Jamestown, New York.

The Greenville 15 year old all-star team lost to Leesburg, Florida on Monday, 5-3. That team finished third in the Southeast Regional.

Greenville Tar Heel beat Greater Naples, Florida 5-4 in the Tournament of State Champions in West Virginia in 9-10 play. Tar Heel finished 1-2 in pool play in the tournament.
