Man and woman arrested after drug sale operation in the Duplin County

KENANSVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) - A man and a woman were arrested after authorities conducted an operation into the sale of methamphetamine and marijuana in the Beulaville area, deputies said.

Randy J. Powell of Deep Run was charged with selling, delivering and manufacture marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, maintaining a dwelling place to keep a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Beatrice Church of Hookerton was charged with conspiring to sale and deliver marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine, manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On May 2, the Duplin County Sheriff's Office along with the Beulaville Police Department, the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office and the Greene County Sheriff's Office conducted an undercover operation into the sale of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Authorities said Powell and Church met with an undercover officer in the Beulaville area of the Duplin County.

Both were taken into custody, authorities said.

Deputies said they found approximately 42 grams of marijuana and 4.3 grams of methamphetamine.

Both, Powell and Church, were sent to the Duplin County Jail under a $20,000 bond.
