KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) - The person who died in a chain-reaction accident involving three vehicles in Lenoir County has been identified.
Eboni Harris, 25, of Wilson died in the wreck.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol said that the accident happened around 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 70 Bypass and west of La Grange.
Troopers said the driver of a Mazda 626 missed their exit and started breaking rapidly.
A Nissan van traveling behind the car avoid hitting the car, but the driver was not able to.
The car and van both went off the road, and a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck ended up hitting the back of the van.
Harris was in the back seat of the Mazda.
More people were injured in the accident and were sent to hospitals in the Wayne and Lenoir Counties.
