"You will notice it's slightly more humid when you step out the door this morning," said Storm Team 8 Meteorologist Leigh Spann. That extra moisture will lead to a good coverage of storms this afternoon. "Our rain chance today is 50%, and some of the storms will produce heavy downpours," said Spann. Between storms, it will be hot and humid with highs in the low to mid 90s.
The storms are going to linger into the evening before tapering off by midnight. It stays muggy overnight with lows in the mid to upper 70s.
"Labor Day Weekend is shaping up to be quite typical," said Spann. Expect morning sunshine followed by pop-up afternoon storms each day. Saturday's high will be near 93, and it is back to 93 again Sunday afternoon. The rain chance on Labor Day is 40% with a high of 92.
