GREENVILLE, N.C. - Hello! I'm Chief Meteorologist David Sawyer with your STORM TEAM 9 FORECAST FOR EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA: Storm Team 9 is tracking scattered thunderstorms along a cold front advancing toward eastern North Carolina. These storms may impact your community Friday afternoon into Friday evening.

THIS EVENING:  Splendid weather will continue!  Skies will be mostly clear with a thin veil of high clouds across the WNCT-TV 9 On Your Side viewing area. Winds will be light and variable as a big area of high pressure over eastern NC slowly pushes offshore tonight.  This feature will keep our weather pleasant and tranquil. Evening temperatures will fall from the 60's deep into the 50's by 10 pm.

TONIGHT: Temperatures will be cool across eastern NC. The comfortable sleeping weather will feature overnight lows are near 50 degrees inland with upper 50's closer to the coast. Winds will become southerly between 5 and 10 mph.

A LOOK AHEAD: Another cool front will give us a chance of scattered showers or thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening.  The bigger threats with any thunderstorms impacting your area will be gusty winds that may exceed 60 mph and periods of heavy rain while the storm moves through.  This frontal system will push off the NC coast late Friday night, setting us up for a very pleasant weekend.
