RALEIGH, N.C. – Thanks to films like Iron Man 3 and Nicolas Sparks' new flick Safe Haven, North Carolina has had a record year in the film industry.
The state film office reports $376 million in spending and more than 20,000 jobs created in 2012. This year’s numbers far exceed last year’s $220 million in spending and 3,300 jobs.
Much of the success from the past two years can be attributed to the tax credit incentive legislation championed by Governor Bev Perdue in 2010.
