Winners announced for Dancing With the PCC Stars!

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

The winners have been announced in Pitt Community College's Dancing With the PCC Stars.

And the winners are Team Four, the Public Safety Team, consisting of Connie Elks, Eric Griffin, Kimberly Robb, Marcia Perkins, Tina Locklear-Knox, Heidi Serrano, and Procopio Serrano.

The competition was held March 7 at Rock Springs Center in Greenville. The event ran from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and featured a dinner and silent auction before the dancing began.

9 On Your Side's own Alex Freedman and Andrea Blanford also took part in the competition to raise money for student scholarships. The WNCT Dancing Team came in 3rd place overall and took home an award for "clever creativity".

Pitt Community College raised about $30,000 with their Dancing With the PCC Stars event.  All the money raised is going to student scholarships.

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Two of 9 On Your Side's anchors are trading in the anchor desk for dancing shoes.

Morning Edition's Andrea Blanford and weekend anchor/reporter Alex Freedman will be dancing together for Pitt Community College's Dancing with the Stars competition.

They'll be competing against other couples in our area and raising money for scholarships.

The competition is March 7 at Rock Springs Center in Greenville. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and features a dinner and silent auction before the dancing begins.

Tickets for the event are $65 (a $30 tax-deductible donation) and include one vote for the ticketholder's favorite dance team. You can get those by calling the PCC Foundation at 252-493-7287. Tables and other sponsorship opportunities are also available. The deadline to RSVP for tickets is Feb. 8.

You can start voting for your favorite team in February, the exact date should be announced soon. Votes are $10 each and there is no limit to the number of votes you can cast.
