GREENVILLE, N.C. -
Lawmen say they arrested a Greenville man for Extortion, Obstruction of
Justice, and Intimidating a Witness.
Greenville Police say they had a tip that Norman Shackley was attempting to coerce his estranged wife into testifying falsely on his behalf
about his other court cases. He allegedly went so far as to threaten to kill her if
she didn't comply.
Shackley was arrested without incident and
jailed under a $400,000 secured bond.

Greenville Police arrest a man they say impersonated a Federal Law Enforcement Officer.
Police arrested 47-year-old Norman Henry Shackley of Greenville on Tuesday. They say he tried to get in Ample Mini Storage on Arlington Blvd. on December 23. The victim told police Shackley confronted him at the storage facility and tried to enter a secured area without using an access code. When the victim denied entry to Shackley, the victim says Shackley cursed him and told him he was a Federal Law Enforcement Officer, displayed a gold-colored badge and threatened to arrest the man. The victim contacted police.
Police arrested Shackley on Tuesday without incident. Detectives say they seized a gold-colored badge. He's in jail under a $100,000 bond.
