Each week, we'll highlight events going on throughout the community.
Our first event was a blood drive at the Red Cross of Eastern North Carolina blood donor center on Thursday. That's on Red Banks Road in Greenville.
Winter is often a slow season for blood donations, so every bit counts.
Every 2 seconds someone in the United States needs blood. It may be an accident victim, cancer patient, or someone needing surgery.
And you never know when that someone could be you or someone you love.
Just be donating, you can save up to three adults lives or 5 babies lives.
There's really no better gift to give than the gift of life.
