A Jones County man convicted of killing two people will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars.
45-year-old Charles Collins, of Pollocksville, was sentenced Monday to 58 years in prison.
Collins had pleaded guilty last October to two first-degree murder counts, four abduction counts and several weapons charges.
Prosecutors say he fatally shot his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend, 40-year-old Michael Temple, and her son, 19-year-old Derwin Watts, in Virginia last April.
A police SWAT team shot and wounded Collins during a standoff.
