Medical examiners released the autopsy results of a baby deputies say was murdered by his father.
The results show the 2-month-old died from blunt force injuries to the head and that his cause of death is a homicide.
Onslow County investigators say Sergeant Jordan King killed his baby by fracturing his skull. Investigators suspect king was trying to stop the baby from crying.
Sheriff Ed Brown says the infant was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center and placed on life support, but could not recover from the injuries.
"The child could not live without the support system. That is why there was a decision by the parent to take the child off of the support system." Said Brown.
A judge revoked King's bond of $500,000, which will keep him in the Onslow County jail for the duration of his trial.
