Should your gun permit information be public record?
That's the debate in the North Carolina Senate Thursday.
Lawmakers are weighing in on a proposal that would make that information confidential.
Right now, you can find the names and addresses of everyone who owns a gun or has a concealed weapons permit.
Supporters say the fact that robbers can leaf through these records and find victims is reason enough to pass this bill.
