Some lawmakers in our state say young people should not be allowed to use tanning beds.
A House committee is considering a bill that would prohibit tanning salons from having customers under 18. Current law prohibits anyone under 13 from using tanning beds without a written prescription.
A vote to move the bill forward was delayed Tuesday after a spokesman for an industry-funded institute argued that bill supporters were misinforming lawmakers.
