MANTEO, N.C. -
A man fell overboard a merchant vessel off the North Carolina coast and and crews have now suspended their search for him.
The Coast Guard says a 33-year-old male crewmember went missing from the ship "Ice Vessel" Wednesday about 50 miles east of Cape Hatteras.
The crew aboard the ship reported him missing Wednesday morning by satellite phone.
The search took place on water and by air.
