VANCEBORO, N.C. -
The West Craven boys and girls basketball teams won their respective Coastal 3A tournaments Friday night.
The boys, led by Josh Cuthberson and Demetres Abrams, beat cross-county rival Havelock in a tight 72-66 game.
In girls action, Tar Heel commit Jamie Cherry and the #2 seed Eagles beat the #1 seed DH Conley 57-45.
In the 2A Eastern Plains it was the Kinston boys over Farmville Central 80-45. The Vikings have won 7 straight conference tournament championships.
The Kinston girls were also winners Friday. They beat Wilson-Beddingfield 63-30.
