The Lundberg Survey says the reasons behind the spike are gone.
The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.77.
And in North Carolina, the average sits at $3.79. That's up more than 50 cents over nine weeks.
Lundberg says crude oil prices are now going down and wholesale prices are also starting to tumble.
Today's average is about 10-cents more than what we saw a year ago.
