If you're a gun owner and you tried to buy ammunition lately, you may have been out of luck.
A lot of gun shop owners are now forced to limit the amount of ammo you buy.
It's a not just small gun shops, like Colt's Gun and Pawn in Winterville.
Large retailers like Wal-Mart also are finding it hard to keep ammunition on the shelves.
Colt's Gun and Pawn says part of the reason people are stocking up is the gun control debate.
Customers are coming in buying ammunition, because they are afraid the government will target bullets next.
And it's that fear retailers say has people lining up every morning to buy ammo.
"There are plenty of stores around here, that you'll hear people say hey I was just in line at so and so's store and there is 30 people in line waiting to get ammunition and soon as stuff hits the shelf it's all gone," said Colt Page, Colt's Gun & Pawn.
