A former teacher is accused of bilking students out of $1,450.
The Kinston Department of Public Safety says they arrested 32-year-old Amanda Ann Grady on Monday and charged her with Obtaining Property by False Pretense.
Her arrest stems from a report that the former Kinston High School teacher had collected money from an Inauguration field trip that never happened for her own use.
Grady was hired January 23, 2012 and resigned a year later. She taught social studies at the school.
She was given a $10,000 bond.
