Pope Benedict the 16th will still be addressed
as "his holiness " after he retires. The Vatican announced the Holy Father will
keep his name Benedict the 16th and will be known as "emeritus pope". After his
resignation on Thursday, the 85 year old's dress will also change a bit.
The Pope was given the brown shoes during
his trip to Mexico last year.
50,000 tickets have been requested for
the Pope's final audience Wednesday here at Saint Peters Square. The Vatican
says he will be driven around the square, so people can see him. Then he will
go to the platform and give his last talk.
Benedict gave cardinals the go ahead on
Monday to move up the ceremony to elect the next pope. The cardinals plan to
set a date for the process to begin when they meet Monday.
115 cardinals under the age of 80 are
expected in Rome for the conclave to vote on who should become the next pope.
