A westbound exit on Hwy 264 is expected to be back open by noon Wednesday after a semi-truck tipped over.
It happened around 9 a.m. Wednesday. That's when 38-year-old Jeffery Glendon Legette of Jacksonville attempted to turn onto the Highway 264 westbound exit off of Highway 58 in Farmville. Investigators say Legette was going too fast when he entered the turn and the semi-truck he was driving overturned sending its load of rocks and gravel onto the roadside.
Legette works for Triangle Grading and Paving Inc based in Raleigh. He was not injured and no injuries were reported.
Highway Patrol, Farmville Fire Department and Woolard's Automotive responded. They expect to have the scene cleared by noon.
The westbound exit for Highway 264 in Farmville will be blocked until then.
Highway Patrol troopers tells us Legette will be charged with an unsafe moving violation.
