KINSTON, N.C. -
The North Carolina Barbeque Society has recognized a new king.
Kinston's own long-time king, Wilber King of Kings Bar-b-que, was officially inducted into the society's "Wall of Fame" in Winston-Salem.
Wilber sold his namesake restaurants to Joe Hargitt a few years ago, but still watches over the business.
Hargitt says he's happy King got the honor. "I think it's a determination of a lifetime achievement of dedication that he has had for dealing with customers, selling good food, and overall recognition in the industry.
Today there are four King's locations, with others coming in the future.
