GREENVILLE, N.C. -
The Greenville Police Department has released surveillance footage from an armed robbery in the parking lot at the Economy Inn on Stantonsburg Road.
The victim told police he met the suspect in the Dreams Tobacco Shop parking lot a short while earlier, looking to purchase marijuana. The two met in the hotel parking lot where the victim told police that the suspect pulled a knife and attempted to rob him.
The victim and the suspect got into a scuffle before the suspect escaped with one of the victim's gold chains, an "Angry Bird" pendant, reportedly valued at $50.
The suspect still had approximately 17 grams of marijuana, purchased from the suspect, on him when police arrived. Officers seized the drugs and placed it into property and evidence.
