Cool Nights and Comfortable Days

Updated:
MOBILE, Alabama -

We are preparing for record lows tonight. In July it really takes no preparation because record lows are not all that cold. For Mobile and for Pensacola, the record low for tomorrow morning is 67 degrees. The average low is closer to 72. As dry air continues to filter in, we’ll see temperatures along the I-10 corridor fall to the middle 60s. At the beaches, you’ll find upper 60s as the sun rises. The coolest spots will be north of Highway 84 where many locations will be in the lower 60s and maybe even right at 60.

Tomorrow is sunny and dry. Dew points will be even lower than they were today. Expect a comfortable, drier feel to the air. Highs will be a couple of degrees below average, in the upper 80s.

Tomorrow night also puts us back into the 60s.

On Thursday, moisture will begin to creep upward. Late in the day a few showers or thunderstorms become possible. Highs reach 90. Beyond Thursday, we return to the typical summer humidity that creates daily afternoon thunderstorms over a third or a quarter of the area.

There’s a strong tropical wave in the central Atlantic that may become a tropical depression in the next day or two but in the long-term, it doesn’t look like a concern for us.
