NEW BERN, N.C. -
An afternoon crash lands a woman in the hospital.
It happened just before noon Thursday at the intersection of U.S. 70 and Airport Road in James City.
Troopers say 62-year-old Judy Perez crossed the intersection. A truck ran a red light and plowed in to her, flipping her car. The truck sideswiped another car.
The driver of the truck, Paul Jambor, faces charges.
Crews took Perez to Carolina East Medical. A chopper flew then flew her to Vidant in Greenville.
We just got off the phone with personnel there. Perez is in serious condition.
