CAPE HATTERAS, N.C. -
Transportation officials say NC 12 has reopened south of the Oregon Inlet bridge with one
lane and a DOT pilot car until 7:00pm Monday, March 11.
It will then close at 7:00 pm.
Tentatively, the road will reopen Tuesday morning. it will reopen in the morning.
We will keep you posted with additional information as it
becomes available.
Sand and seawater have been washing ashore as a result of a coastal storm. The trouble spots are in the same area that was broken apart by super storm Sandy in October.
At that time, the highway was shut down for 2 months for damage repairs.
