Celeste Stewart, Britny Edwards Earn All-C-USA Honors

Celeste Stewart was named to the All-C-USA First Team, while Britny Edwards earned All-Defensive Team honors it was announced Sunday by the league office. The all-conference nods are the first-ever for both seniors. 

Stewart collects All-First Team honors after leading the Pirates in assists with 119 for a 4.1 assists per game average, ranking fifth in the league. The Charlotte, N.C., native is ECU's second leading scorer with 11.2 points per game to go along with .397 field goal accuracy. Additionally, she has notched 17 double-figure scoring games and has recorded a pair of 20-point performances this season as she poured in a career-high 26 points versus SMU and posted 21 points against Rice.
Edwards garners All-Defensive team accolades after leading the Pirates with 8.3 rebounds per game, which ranks seventh in the league. Her average of 3.0 offensive rebounds per game is good for eighth in the conference, while her 5.3 defensive rebounds per contest is tied for seventh. She has also tallied 38 blocks to average 1.3 blocked shots per game which leads ECU and ties for fourth place in the conference. This season, Edwards has notched two 15-rebound efforts as she notched 17 boards at Memphis and 15 rebounds against UCF.
Conference USA specialty awards will be announced Monday, March 11, while the 2013 basketball championship gets underway on Wednesday, March 13 at the Tulsa Convention Center in Tulsa, Okla.
