Open government is the focus of a program scheduled for the McKimmon Center at North Carolina State University.
The Sunshine Center of the North Carolina Open Government Coalition and North Carolina State University Student Media will host the state's Sunshine Day program on Monday.
Speakers include veteran journalists and government officials from North Carolina and numerous experts and advocates for open government. The keynote speaker is professor Lucy Dalglish, the dean of the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland.
There will also be a workshop on a reporter's perspective on timely access to public records, and a panel discussion on the investigation into the University of North Carolina football program featuring former UNC athletic director Dick Baddour.
