RALEIGH, N.C. -

N.C. State's loss at Florida State cost Wolfpack coach Mark Gottfried $125,000 in bonus money, according to a copy of his contract obtained by WNCN.

Gottfried has an annual salary of $750,000, although that is only a portion of his compensation. He also gets $1.2 million in supplemental compensation, plus multiple bonus possibilities.

One of his bonuses is an additional two months of salary if he wins 12 ACC regular-season games. The Pack took an 11-6 ACC record into Saturday's game at Florida State, and had a 10-point lead with six minutes to play. But State lost 71-67.

The Wolfpack is 22-9 overall and 11-7 in ACC play going into this week's ACC Tournament. State plays Virginia Tech in the first round Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum.

Gottfried still has multiple bonuses in his contract he can hit, including:

  • Winning the ACC Tournament (two month's salary)
  • Runner-up in the ACC Tournament (one month's salary)
  • Making the NCAA Tournament (one month's salary)
  • A month's salary for each NCAA Tournament win, plus additional bonuses for Final Four wins
  • Multiple bonus opportunities for the team's academic performance
