RALEIGH, N.C. -

A wreck Wednesday afternoon closed traffic on Six Forks Road north at Lead Mine in Raleigh. The accident blocked all northbound lanes for over an hour.

At 6:25 p.m., Raleigh Police Spokesman Jim Sughrue said crews were clearing the scene and reopening Six Forks Rd.

Five people were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries, police said.

Authorities on scene told WNCN that four cars were involved. The cause is still being investigated but police do assume this was a chain-reaction crash.
