Norman Shackley
GREENVILLE, N.C. -
A Greenville man charged with extortion is now facing charges for damaging a local bicycle shop.
After an investigation, Detective LeCompte with the Greenville Police Department served warrants on Norman Shackley Wednesday at the Pitt County Detention Center.
Sgt. Joe Friday tells us they linked Shackley to damage reported at The Bicycle Post in Greenville. Ten cases of damage totaling around $18,000 were reported between September 2011 and August 2012.
Police say Shackley was going to the business after hours and cutting the phone lines. He was wearing a ghillie suit at the time, which made it difficult to identify him.
Shackley was already in the Pitt County Detention Center. He's accused of threatening to kill his estranged wife if she testified against him on charges of impersonating an officer.
The charges he faces for damage to The Bicycle Post include 8 counts of injury to real property, 4 counts of injury to personal property and 5 counts of second degree trespassing.
He's now under an additional $10,000 bond. Shackley's next court appearance is April 10.
