Clayton Police have been leading undercover operations targeting drug dealers in the area over the past few months. Five people have been arrested so far, and five other suspects are wanted on outstanding felony drug warrants.

"We do these drug operations for the community," said Clayton Police Captain Jon Gerrell. "We want our families and children to live in an environment where it's healthy and wholesome, where our kids can get a good education, and where they can have a successful life, free from the threat of interacting with drug dealers on our streets."

The Clayton Drug Sting conducted on Tuesday resulted in the arrests of Marcellus Caryle Sinclair, Ronald Sinclair, Morris Leavette Stith, Natasha Benet Merritt and James Robinson.

Marcellus Caryle Sinclair, 29, is already a murder suspect in the New Year's Eve shooting at the American Legion and now has eight counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver with a total bond of $300,000.

Ronald Sinclair, 55, is charged with four counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver and two counts for maintaining a vehicle, with a $70,000 bond.

Stith, 43, has one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver and one count of trafficking of opium, resulting in a $75,000 bond.

Merritt, 36, has $100,000 bond after being charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver, one count of trafficking opium, two counts of maintaining a vehicle, and one count of conspiracy to sell and deliver crack cocaine.

Robinson, 17, has ten counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver with a $100,000 bond.

The five suspects still under investigation for counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver are Terrance Garfield Badger, Desmond Lavar Bass, Kevin Gerrell Davis, Michael Thomas Smith, and Timothy Lee Richardson. Anyone with any information on them are asked to contact Clayton Police at 919-553-4611.
