
On Friday morning, three Bertie STEM School students were involved in a car wreck near Mount Olive Church Road in Bertie County.
The three female students were on their way to West Bertie Elementary School to deliver lunches for a fundraiser when the single-car crash happened.
The girls were driving a teachers car at the time.
After the accident two of the students were sent to Bertie Memorial, while the other student was airlifted to Vidant Medical in Greenville.
As of Saturday afternoon, one of the students was released from the hospital, the two other girls underwent surgery for non-life threatening injuries at Vidant Medical.
All three of the students are expected to be ok.
The school system says they are still investigating the accident.
