Man charged with street racing in accident that killed 2

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Detectives have charged a driver with death by motor vehicle in connection with the fatal accident on March 14, 2013 that claimed the lives of Michael Hickey and Amber Bostian.

Nathan-el Freeman, 21, faces two counts of Misdemeanor: Death by Motor Vehicle. Freeman was driving a 2004 Pontiac G6 while engaged in street racing with the deceased at the time of the collision, Fayetteville Police said. On March 18, 2013 Freeman reported to the Fayetteville Police Department and was cited by investigators.

Hickey, 25, and Bostian, 26, were both Fort Bragg soldiers. The Pontiac GTO was traveling northwest on Yadkin Road when the driver lost control and traveled into oncoming traffic and struck a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta. 

The driver of the Pontiac was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he died of his injuries.  The driver and passenger of the Volkswagen were also transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with injuries.
