Eddie TaylorThe Greenville Regional Drug Task force recently finished a two year heroin trafficking investigation that ran from Newark, New Jersey to Greenville.
In February the task force partnered with the Raleigh Federal Drug Enforcement to arrest Derrick Howard and Chancey Green. Both men are from Greenville. Law enforcement seized 60 grams of heroin that were being transported from Newark to Greenville. The heroin equals 1500 dosage units.
During the investigation many shipments of heroin between Newark and Greenville were seized. Investigators found that Green had distributed 5 kilograms of heroin since July of 2011. Both Green and Howard are charged with many heroin trafficking charges. They are both being held in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $2 million secured bond.
Earlier in March the task force was able to arrest Eddie Taylor, the main source of the heroin supply. While arresting him they seized more heroin that was on the way to Greenville.
