FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

A 73-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested and charged with prescription fraud Monday after he falsely claimed he was a military doctor and a civilian OB-GYN.

John Richard White, a pharmacist, is charged with 25 counts of identification theft, 19 counts of obtaining a prescription drug by fraud and six counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says White allegedly assumed the DEA identification of a military doctor and a civilian OB-GYN. Between 2011 and 2012, he ordered prescriptions for Androgel -- a testosterone enhancement under his name -- as well as thyroid and estrogen medications for his wife.

White was arrested Monday afternoon and subsequently released under a $125,000 bond. He will make his first court appearance on Tuesday.
