UPDATE: Road reopens after rollover accident in Pitt County

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Highway 903 in Pitt County is back open after a rollover accident.

A van flipped just after 8 o'clock Thursday morning near Rountree Road in Ayden.

Troopers say the van was attempting to pass a tractor when the tractor started making a left turn, hitting the van. The van then went off the road to the left, crossed back over the road and went into a ditch before flipping over in a field.

Highway Patrol Troopers tell us no one was injured in the accident.

The van involved is a Coastal Beverage Company Miller Lite van. The company is based out of Farmville. A van from the same company took down power lines in the Homestead Mobile Home Park in Belvior last month.

The driver of the tractor is charged with a safe movement violation.

The scene was cleared by about 9 a.m.
