GREENVILLE, N.C. -

21-Year-old Taushima Nixon of Williamston was taken to Vidant Medical Center after being struck and pinned between two cars.

Police say it happened around 11 p.m. Friday on East 10th Street near Elm Street.

People at the scene told police Nixon's car broke down.  They said none of her lights were on when she got out of her car and was struck by another vehicle driven by 27-year-old Durwin Lamb of Greenville.  Witnesses say Nixon was standing in the roadway at the back of her vehicle when it happened, pinning her between both cars.

She was transported to Vidant Medical Center with serious injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.  Police believe alcohol was not a factor and no charges have been filed.
