The North Carolina Highway Patrol discovered marijuana, oxycodone, and a .22 caliber pistol in a car while conducting a checkpoint on Highway 32 in Washington.
Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office helped the Highway Patrol arrest 28-year-old Phillip Woolard of Washington. Troopers smelled marijuana coming from Woolard's vehicle when he arrived at the check point. While searching the car they found three bags of marijuana packed for resale, 14 units of Oxycodone, and the gun.
Woolard was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession with intent to sell marijuana and oxycodone. He was put in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,000 bond.
