High-speed chase ends in Vanceboro

VANCEBORO, N.C. -

A high-speed chase that spanned across Craven County is over.

Troopers tell us they pulled over a '95 Buick in New Bern but the driver took off. They say four people were in the car.

The chase ended on Buck lane off Highway 17 in Vanceboro.

Witnesses tell us the speeding car hit another car on the road and then stopped in someone's yard.

No one was home at the time and no one was injured.

Troopers say the driver was Kristopher Martins, 22 yrs old of New Bern, NC, who fled due to four outstanding felony warrants.  He's  been charged with felony speed to elude arrest and reckless driving. Troopers say other charges for Martins are pending.

Passengers in the vehicle were Austin Moore, 24 yrs old of New Bern, NC, and Carlton Suggs II, 20 yrs old of New Bern, NC. 

Suggs has been charged with restrict, obstruct, and delay of a public officer. Moore has been charged with a seatbelt violation.
