Report of ‘yelling in a field’ leads to Marijuana Arrest

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Beaufort County Deputies arrested two teenagers after finding marijuana when responding to a report of someone yelling in a field.

Deputies found two vehicles in a field near Magnolia School Road while responding to the call. While asking why they were in the field, deputies smelled marijuana and searched the cars. During the search deputies found a plastic sandwich bag containing 10 smaller baggies of marijuana hiding behind the car's tire. A marijuana cigarette was found in a glove box.

Deputies arrested 16-year-old Marvin Collins Jr. of Snow Hill and 19-year-old Marquis Davis of Washington. Davis was cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Collins was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell marijuana. He was placed in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $3,500 bond.
